Ms Cisca de Lange, the BlackHawk regional sales director, Sati Reel the managing director of Phoenix Aviation and Ben Estherhuizen, an engine expert, inspect one of the clean burning exhaust stacks on a new Pratt and Witney engine.

Work on the first BlackHawk conversion of a Cesna 208 Caravan in Africa being undertaken by 208 Aviation at Wonderboom Airport, Pretoria had reached midpoint as this edition was going to press, with the new PT6A-42A engine and coupled cockpit engine gauges being in the final stage of installation along with the new glass cockpit upgrade.

A new charter company is born

On Saturday 3 December, I was privileged to join the owner of FliteCare Dr. Eugene Meyer and his family, in flying from Wonderboom National Airport to Combertum lodge in the Timbivati Game Reserve adjacent to the Kruger National Park. The flight there and back was in a Kodiak turboprop, the only one on the African continent.
